How can you help your pet?
Weight management
Extra weight places abnormal pressure on your pet’s joints which can wear away the cartilage that normally protects them.
Working with Broadreach Nature+ on a suitable feeding plan will help control body weight.
Exercise Management
When an animal does not get enough exercise, it loses muscle mass.
As a result joints can become unstable leading to pain and stiffness when the joints are moved. Therefore, it is not surprising that physical or even general mobility decreases, which can lead to your animal adopting a more sedentary lifestyle and gaining weight.
Whilst exercise may help to control bodyweight, it is not always advisable to exercise an affected joint excessively. Regular, moderate or gentle exercise is recommended, as this helps to maintain mobility and reduce the occurrence of joints stiffening up.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy can help build up muscles that support the joints, without putting weight on the joint itself. You may also want to consider physiotherapy.
